Working with Individuals
My work with individuals is grounded in empathy and compassion
for self and others using a family systems/wellness psychology orientation. This inclusive approach considers the full network of individuals in your life - family members, friends, and other significant relationships - recognizing the unique roles each person plays in your well-being. By acknowledging these connections, we deepen our self-awareness and create a supportive foundation for personal growth. I will help you explore your feelings, understand why you experience them and support you in the process of considering effective solutions so that you can move forward with clarity and intention.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a student of His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama for ten years. In that regard, I have received instruction in Buddhist philosophy, compassion, and mindfulness. My work as a therapist is profoundly influenced by this experience. The meditation training I received is a direct transmission from B. Alan Wallace, the Dalai Lama's former translator, with whom I have spent months in silent retreat. I learned that we can learn to use the power of our mind to shape our level of happiness and well-being, and that it is possible to do so through self-determination and conscious living. Transformation is at our fingertips if we can get out of our own way, at any stage of life, empowering us to uncover and embrace our fullest potential. It can be as simple as watching the breath.
I genuinely look forward to meeting with you and getting started.
